Gordon, Gino & Fred’s American Road Trip

Luke Campbell – Executive Producer/Show Runner

Studio Ramsay/Objective Media Group/ITV London

“Based on referrals from two-years of experience on “The Grand Tour”, we contracted Producer/Fixer Doug Millington to help us produce four episodes for UK based Gordon Ramsay Studios, Objective Media Group and ITV London.

We knew going in that “Gordon, Gino & Fred’s: American Road Trip”, slated for production in four western states and twelve cities including Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco, with 20 days of filming in a 30 day window, would be taxing on everyone involved.

Working closely with the Director Ben Archard, Producers
Jon Foat, Dionne Bronfield, and myself on the pre-production recce it was immediately obvious that Millington was not daunted by the task ahead.

His grasp of the creative concepts, direction of the show and innate awareness of “the big picture” of a large production gave me confidence that our project would be the absolute success that it was.

There was not a challenge, at any level, that Millington didn’t complete in the most thorough and professional manner.

Simply stated, you have to earn respect!

“Dougy Boy”, as I came to call him, will forever have mine!”

The Grand Tour Season 2 – Amazon Prime

Kit Lynch – Robinson – Series Director

Chump Productions – London

Thank you for all your hard work on the Colorado film for the Grand Tour – we can be a handful; like changing a major stunt location 3 days before filming!

Many producers cannot cope with our ways so thank you for keeping a level head and giving us the sandbox to play in. The film has turned out great- one of the best of the season.

International Video Campaign – Best Buy

EJ McNulty –  Executive Creative Director

Wunderman – Minneapolis, MN

This project was 10 months in the making, and spanned four locations in as many states. Our agency team and much of the crew spent their summer dedicated to this project.

This never-before assembled team was immensely talented, resourceful and passionate about this project.

You need only look at the final work as testament to this.

The films have left the manic and nurturing hands of their creators, and the public will now judge their merit. Every customer, Best Buy executive and our industry response, will be one of awe and admiration of what was created. The authenticity of the stories, the realness of our heroes and the craftsmanship of the films resonate far beyond expectations.

P.S. The “Passion Series” won awards in Cinematography, Video Editing and B2B
Website at the 2018 Advertising Federation Awards Show in Minneapolis.

Documentary: “V” The Legend of Sheila Varian

Directed and Produced by Millington Productions

Screening Notes from Mike Nichols – Director/Producer (1931-2014)

The Movie is wonderful. The feeling of spontaneity is absolute. Its beautiful, very well photographed with the horses at their very best and a levelheaded heroine at the heart of it. The other characters are both authentic and charming.

The story is well told with a mix of glamour and earthiness that should be a trademark.

There’s a wonderful balance of laughter and fun.

Well done!

Costa Rica Tourism – “Pura Vida”

Connie Newberry – SVP, Director of Production

22 Squared Advertising – Atlanta, GA

The daunting schedule required shooting for 28 straight days while travelling to 35 locations spread across every corner of the country. Many accessed only by a several hour boat ride.

The production crew traveled 4000 ground miles producing an asset library of over 80 hours of amazing material.

Originally designed as an on-line APP the project morphed into short form versions that ran as tourism trailers at 2500 movie theaters across the USA and was also featured during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil to tens of millions of global viewers.

The project was produced by Doug Millington who also served as 2nd Unit Director/Cameraman on several segments. Need I say more?

State of Colorado – Department of State

Gary Zimmerman – Chief of Staff

Denver, CO

The Colorado Department of State retained Doug Millington as Producer/Director for a documentary about a first-ever, groundbreaking election audit procedure called Risk Limiting Audit.

The film featured the Colorado Secretary of State, Elections Administrators from across the county, and mathematicians and statisticians from some of the top universities in the United States including Columbia, Berkeley and MIT.

The subject matter had the potential to come-off as interesting as an industrial training video. Yet, Millington managed to capture the historical importance and excitement of the accomplishment with technical excellence, beauty, and gravitas. He thoroughly exceeded expectations.

The film premiered in Washington DC to The NASS and NASED Conventions in February of 2018.

The results were an unequivocal success.

International Video & Print Campaign – Original Marines Clothiers

The project was a challenge: more than 150 photos for two catalogues, 10 days of production, 35 models of which 80% were kids from age 6 months to 13 years.

It could turn into a nightmare!

Thanks to Producer Doug Millington, everything went smoothly. He was collaborative, flexible and provided us with a highly professional yet supportive crew.

International Video & Print Campaign – Merrell Products

Marianna Asprey – Partner/Creative Director

Penny Gordon – Partner-Producer

Elements Management Limited – United Kingdom

We were struggling finding the right people with the skills and knowledge we required to fulfill our project… then we found Doug Millington!
Doug’s immediate grasp of the brand and (creative) brief was refreshing. His speedy, flexible and highly competent uptake of all the “on the ground” logistics surrounding the job made our very short lead times much easier to facilitate.
Doug’s knowledge of the mountains, his contacts and his feedback on locations was invaluable in ensuring a credible and achievable creative itinerary.
He matched his team perfectly to our requirements ensuring that we had the right people, with the right knowledge in the right place, at the right time…. which was no easy task given the altitudes and weather conditions we were working with…. not to mention the ground we needed to cover over a 10 day shoot!

We would not hesitate to recommend Doug and his team to anyone considering a similar project.

 Greg Vince –  Series Producer

 Chump Productions – London

Doug,

This is now a bit overdue, but wanted to sincerely thank you for all of your work and more importantly, your continued patience when dealing with us as a Production.

You really did go above and beyond for us and we couldn’t be happier with how the shoot went and how the sequence at the ski resort will look.

Also, please thank the whole team that helped whilst we were out there. Everyone was absolutely on it and it made shooting there a pleasure.

Thank you again for all your help, you were all fantastic.

Kind regards and hope to see you all again in the not too distant future.
